PRACTICE DAYS 6 (TEACHING MATERIALS)

Teaching materials are different in each class. The essential ones are the books and the stuff that could interest young learners, for example mascots, toys and any other thing that is related to the topic of the lesson. This can include teacher-made, pupil-made and commercially-made resources, textbooks, class reading books, dictionaries, e-books, stationery, worksheets and science equipment. Teaching Materials enable teachers to offer more interactive, interesting and engaging learning activities.

According to studies, the key to unlocking excellent progress is a mix of motivated teachers and well-planned learning that makes appropriate use of available teaching Materials. The utilization of teaching Materials allows a teacher to improve their students' learning experience. It's a departure from the traditional 'chalk and talk' method of instruction, in which the teacher effectively lectures the students.
A teacher can provide learning opportunities for the students by using teaching materials. Rather than just delivering knowledge to their students, the instructor encourages them to engage in more independent, activity-based learning.

In my practice teacher usually mixes the teaching materials and the activities, so they do nor repeat everyday for not to bore students. Each day she comes up with different ideas so the children do not expect the same thing each day. I think it is a good idea to mix up the teaching materials. for example, first day she uses the flashcards than the smart board activities another day hand-made materials. So the students learn effectively. I believe that materials are the most important part of the teaching young learners because they have a short attention span, so they should focus and love the lessons with the help of materials.
