PRACTICE DAYS 4 (INSTRUCTIONS)

It was 20th of January when I had my practice days continuing, that day I thought that we can start micro-teaching but I was not even participating in the class, I think in all lessons that I have observed before I was quite and shy, especially after first meeting a little boy was very surprise and said "Is this "pani" from Afghanistan and my day was ruined because they remember this because of the war I thought, but  children are innocent and mostly they say words without any bad intentions, so I continued to observe the class. I wanted to get closer with children but they mostly speak polish which was a little boundary for me, because I understand them but mostly I can not answer their questions in polish, if I answer in English most of them do not understand, so after that day I thought that if I wont be participating in the class actively I can not know them neither they, and started to come and speak to them about the work they do in the groups and they started answering. I have noted and decided that you start with a good intention with consciousness they will answer or even try to answer with drawings or non-verbal communication which made me very happy.

WHEN it comes to the instructions, teacher usually shows the task or describes it on the board and if something is unclear she switches to Polish, which is necessary in some cases. Also, I have noticed that she firstly gives the instructions and then starts to give the worksheets, which is because children after getting the sheets they do not pay attention to the teacher anymore. I have also noticed that she takes the class attendance sometimes on her own and sometimes by reading aloud. I do not know why? should ask her I think.  It is very important to give clear instructions to the young learners, however most of the time there will be children who will look with rounded eyes with the words "nie rozumiem" and that is the part of learning :)
