MY FIRST LESSON

On the date 07.03.2022 I had my first lesson on the revision of numbers. When my host teacher wrote me I was very stressed because I had never a lesson before, even micro-teaching !! As she told us that micro-teaching is not that important and I want you to give whole lessons at once, so I thought it was a bad idea at first because I did not know the students and did not get use to it. It took me a week to think and prepare a lesson plan on revision of the numbers from 11-20. I had the class 1-c and my groupmate 1-e.
I have prepared them a worksheet "wordsearch" with finding numbers in written form. I have printed them first and started thinking about other activities. It was stressful because I did not knew their level well, so I had started the lesson with greeting and  prepared a quick revision for 5 minutes with flashcards and then 10 minutes with the "freeze song" I paused the song from time to time and showed them the numbers for them to say it all together. Well, it went well because they knew all of them. It was even more stressful because I was observed by the teacher and my groupmate :(. Okay, later on I have prepared a "bingo" game and gave them numbers on stickers. Unfortunately, I had only 16, however the class was full that day and they were 19, my big mistake that I did not have more and I had to do it in the class to write 3 more numbers which upset me a lot, because children noticed it (after that I started having extra papers for any emergency cases) a big note for me. It went well, I said the number and the children who had this number said "bingo". It took about 10 minutes. After that I had a smart-board activity  for matching the numbers with the written forms, it was also nice, and for the finishing the lesson I gave them the worksheets for 15 minutes, for some of them it was easy and for some it was a bit difficult but the teacher said that it was nice exercise, except the thing that I should have had a pre-writing task for them to make it easier to write on the papers that they had. Moreover for the feedback she told that I should ask them to write their names on a self-made badge for not pointing them out. In general, she said it was a nice work as for it was my first teaching experience ever, especially with the young learners. I had a headache after the lesson because I was very stressed. It was interesting for me too, because I have started to interact with the kids and most of them started to talk with me, which made me very happy.
