TEACHING A CLIL LESSON (INVENTIONS)

On 10/03/2022 I had my first CLIL lesson , the topic was inventions and I only had a page from the course book about wheels that's what I've got from the teacher and the rest was on me. So I had to prepare this lesson plan in 2 days. After my first experience I thought that it is going to be a disaster because I had no idea how to do a CLIL lesson, thankfully on  08/03/2022 I had a CLIL lesson with Mrs.Katarzyna Brozsko Barratt and she asked a question from which I started to panic and say I have a CLIL lesson this Thursday and I have 0 ideas how to conduct it, she and my groupmates who helped me a lot and gave me some ideas about it made me understand how to start planning and how should it be so it becomes a CLIL lesson, (ofc I am still learning) but I think it was very helpful <3 The reason I had 0 ideas was that we only had 1 CLIL lesson and now I had to design it but I think it was not that bad as my first normal lesson.
The topic was "Invention of wheel". I entered the class, this time I was a bit more relaxed. So, I started with greeting and introducing the wheel. I wrote the word on the board and started describing it and I had a small toy wheel, which made them understand and they started saying the word in polish. I showed them different types of wheels and asked them if they have wheels at home. Then I had a video  about invention of wheel, after that I had a presentation with the transportation and showed them wheels. The rest of the class I had a group activity. I divided them into 5 groups of 3-4 people with the help of sticks that they had at class, and gave them the A3 paper which were divided "with wheel" and "no wheel" I had copies of transports and I have distributed them to each group, they had to work as a group, with cutting, coloring, gluing the transport and decide to which category they belong. It was very enjoyable for them I had a talk with each kid from each group, they were very happy to have the activity. Of course there were kids who wanted to work with their friends and etc. but we figured it out. There was a kid who is not interested in the lesson, I am still worrying about him because he might have some health problems, because he does not participate in the classes usually, so I do not know how to involve him, I tried to talk but he did not answered.
So, to sum up I've got a more positive feedback this time. She told that it was a nice lesson and the classroom management was excellent. This time I was proud of myself and I enjoyed myself too. I think with the help of our groupmates and teachers and by gaining experience it will get easier for me to get used to :)
